By Roger Johnson and Damon Lowney

Porsche Rennsport Reunion V has ended, and more than 57,000 Porsche-philes made the pilgrimage out to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to take part in the largest Porsche gathering in the world. Here you can find live coverage from the event, including the PCA Club Racing Sholar-Friedman Cup race group and all sorts of Porsche Club activities. On the upper half of the page there is a live blog with some in-depth coverage, and directly under it (and on the PCA.org homepage) there’s live-update feed hosted by PCA member Roger Johnson covering a large quantity of activities, cars, and Porsche VIPs at the event. Sholar-Friedman Cup race results are posted below.

Friday

7:00 AM: Porsche Rennsport Reunion V starts now! Gates are open and Porsches are starting to roll in. Porsche Club of America volunteers are currently setting up the hospitality tent, which is on the island in the dry lake bed, this weekend dubbed "Cayman Island." It opens at 9 AM, and we'll be hosting a bunch of events throughout the weekend. Here's the PCA Hospitality tent schedule, which was just updated this morning.

Saturday

8:00 AM: Rennsport Reunion is such a big deal to Porsche that the automaker had its Exclusive department build a Rennsport Reunion edition of the 911 Carrera GTS, which was unveiled yesterday at the Porsche Park area. The car is only available with a manual transmission, and only 25 will be made. Additionally, the car comes as is — customers will not be able to choose additional options.

The color is called Fashion Grey — a peculiar choice for color name — and other visual enhancements to the GTS include a black-and-red strip that stretches from the Porsche crest on the hood all the way back to the rear decklid; a similar stripe between the wheel well with "Porsche" script on the doors; 20-inch Sport Classic wheels in high-gloss black, which PCNA Sports Car Project manager Andrew Lennon says are normally only available through Porsche Tequipment; and a high-gloss black treatment applied to the bottom of the side mirrors and antenna.

The car comes with many standard features, including 18-way adaptive sport seats, PASM sport suspension, Bose audio package, and rear park assist.

On the inside, the car gets more visual accoutrements. Carbon fiber dashboard trim above the glove box and on the doorsills both display "Rennsport Reunion Edition." The GTS interior package gives it Carmine Red stitching on the Sport Design steering wheel, door panel trim, dashboard trim, floor mats and GTS headrest logos. Carmine Red is also seen on the tachometer and the seat belts.

To really play up this particular event, the Rennsport Reunion V logo is embossed on the center console. The key is also painted Fashion Grey and comes with a leather pouch with Carmine Red and the name of the car.

Justification of the special edition is evident in the number of Porsche enthusiasts that come to Rennsport Reunion. Vice President of Marketing Andre Oosthuizen said at yesterday's "grand opening" party that  35,000+ spectators could visit Laguna Seca before the weekend is over.

The 911 Carrear GTS Rennsport Reunoin Edition goes on sale now for $148,335, not including $995 destination charge.

Sunday

1:15 PM: Patrick Lindsey won the PCA Club Racing Sholar-Friedman Cup in his #73 2014 Porsche 911 GT America. He was 16.7 seconds in front of Joe Toussaint, who drove his #90 2014 911 GT3R to a second place finish. Update: Chip Romer finished third in his #155 2012 911 GT3R, 28.6 seconds behind the leader. Andy Wilzoch finished fourth in his 2008 911 GT3 RSR, 37 seconds behind the leader, though a previous version of this post stated he finished third, before a corrected version of the results were released.

The racing was intense and the majority of racers finished unscathed and put on quite the show for spectators, who watched intently from the grandstands. A few racers went off the track — resulting in huge dust clouds — but they drove right back on and continued racing. Eight drivers did not finish. Look forward to a more in-depth race report in future issue of e-Brake News.

3:35 PM: PCA Club Racers on the pace lap for Sholar-Friedman Cup.
